History
Initiated in November 1993 as a vehicle for showcasing local musical, video, and media artists, the television program “Stagefright” is the oldest ongoing project of Iconoclast Productions, the organization itself founded in March of the same year.
Over the past nearly two decades, the program has showcased the talent of literally hundreds of local musical artists, in addition to covering a diversity of Bay Area community and arts events, and airing independent shorts and films by up-and-coming African American directors and producers.
The program spawned three spin-off programs in the mid-90s, “Duga the Hip-Hop Informer”, showcasing local rap and hip-hop artists, “Iconoclast Kids”, which featured creative programs by and for 6 to 18 year old school children, and “Greater Faith”, which covered local black church and political events.
